Using the grid, draw the following letters in at least three iterations:
HANDGLOVES

*Think about how your templates can be more flexible to fit all letterforms. Consider where you draw your templates—your grid can also function as a pattern inspired by life, such as landscapes, perspective lines, or objects...

*Your letters can take on different styles: serif, sans serif, blackletter, or graffiti.

Save your work as a JPG, upload it to your Google Drive folder, and print it out on seven 11×17 sheets. Bring both prints to class.

A stick with a self-made tip as a ground calligraphy tool that allows you to wirte/draw on the beach.

You will pushinh your modular type to a full alphabet, include all upper and lower cases + number from 0 to 9
Print it in 3 sheets of 11x17 paper:
one for all upper cases
one for all lower cases

Create a Type Specimen Poster (using only your typeface).
Your poster must be 12x18 inches, double-sided.

Front side should include (can be either upper or lowercase):
  1. Your name
  2. Course instructor name: Jaylen Wang
  3. Your TA: Lauren Scheide
  4. Otis College School of Art and Design
  5. GDES 314 Experimental Type Design
  6. A quote or a title for your typeface
  7. Anything else you want to add
  8. Reference images/item (you may use photography, images, lines, or shapes, but your type should take center stage and occupy at least 75% of your poster)
Back side should include:
  1. Your lowercase alphabet
  2. Your uppercase alphabet
  3. Your numbers
  4. A short paragraph of your type statement/description (type only, no images)
  5. Your grid!

Submission requirements:
